Superman and Wonder Woman didn't know what happened. They narrowed it down to two possibilities. Either they swapped genders so he was a female Superman and she a male Wonder Woman. Or they swapped lives so Wonder Woman is living Superman's life and Superman is living Wonder Woman's life. To complicate things, both knew the other so well that they couldn't determine their true identity by what they knew. The device that swapped them, lay before them. Their problem was what to set it to return to normal: life or gender?
"What if we try out powers to see who is who?"
"That won't work, if you are a female version of Superman, then you'll have his powers. If you Wonder Woman with Superman's life, then you'll still have Superman's powers. No matter which swap is true, whoever is in Superman's clothes will have his powers too."
"So what are we going to do? We can't stay like this.
"Well, we could flip a coin."
"Be serious."
"Let's ask Batman. He's the world's greatest detective."
"OK, but no one else. Some of the others might find this too funny."
"Deal."
"Now what?"
"I think we should swap costumes. Mine doesn't fit my body properly."
"Good idea."
